Add a whole new dimension to your garden with a beautiful fabric sculpture using paverpol, a non-toxic fabric hardener that can be used indoors or out. You can choose to make your sculpture 3 feet tall or 6 feet tall and style it any way you like – a ribbon dancer, a bird watcher, a gardener, whatever. On the first day of this two day workshop, each student will create an armature and reinforce it with metal rods, them build up the form with tin foil. The second day will be for wrapping and dressing the sculpture in your choice of style and colour. As this is a more advanced lesson, a previous basic paverpol class is a prerequisite.

Supply List

  • - 1 old white or light colored 100% cotton t-shirts (no stamped design) for wrapping body - another 1 or 2 t-shirts or any other fabric(natural fibers only, ie. Cotton, silk, rayon, linen), and lace or trim that you want to use for clothing. I used about 1.1 m of cotton muslin. - embellishments such as old jewelry, beads, silk or dried flowers (optional). If you want her to hold something bring that with you as well - a good pair of pliers (not needle nose) - a turntable is handy if you have one (optional) - tight fitting latex gloves (optional) - an old hand towel to dry your hands - You will be able to leave your sculpture at the Coast Collective for a day or two to dry before taking it home. Note: wear old clothes and/or bring an apron as this can get messy If you have any questions about the fabrics required or any general question about the class, please don’t hesitate to contact me at kathrynfudge@hotmail.com or call 250-478-1989.
