Explore Florence & Siena with english speaking guides, group tours & meals included and time for dedicated plein air activity at Jan’s favorite locations. Our classic Tuscan villa also has indoor studio/workshop space on site for Demos and after hours creative 😉 The workshop schedule will be relaxed and flexible. Paint every waking minute, explore independently or just relax by the pool. No pressure. No masterpieces required.
Jan just returned from Florence…“I got lots of sketching and watercolor painting done during my May 2018 journey in Tuscany. Some only steps away from the Villa, with great local locations in the countryside and nearby Certaldo ALTO. My creative exploration paid off with fabulous locations (cafes & Tuscan cuisine & wine ) in historic Siena and Florence. Check out my sketchbook and paintings”
Our villa stay is near the small town of Certaldo on the regional train line to Florence & Siena. Fattoria Bacio MAP is a working vineyard and olive farm – with their own estate wine & olive oils. You can rent a bike if you want a more active adventure – the farm roads and hillside vinyards are fantastic. (lots of hills…I used an e-bike!) Each couple of days of art instruction & plein air will be punctuated with a cultural tour or activity. The medieval Certaldo ALTO is only minutes away. No cars or crowds.
Materials list and international packing list will be provided to all participants.
Folding stools, tables and easels will be provided on site and at the Villa.
Some sketching practice and basic color mixing. Demos will be in Pencil, Watercolor and Acrylic on panel. Participants must be physically ABLE to climb a flight of stairs without help, and manage the rough cobblestone streets of the old city locations. From Beginners to Advanced – painters will be given exercises and tips to advance from their skill level.
