H. Schmincke & Co. is a traditional company that produces the finest artists' colours. It is made in Germany. The company, founded in 1881 and based in Erkrath near Düsseldorf, is one of the leading companies in the market for artists' paints. Schmincke produces oil, watercolour, acrylic and pastel paints for traditional painting. In 1892, after extensive research, the famous HORADAM® AQUARELL watercolour paints were patented. Using the finest raw materials and the unique 4-stage liquid filling process ensures a quality and brilliance that is second to none. Today, proven traditions are combined with essential innovations. The secret of success is manufacturing where it is necessary for quality reasons, using high-tech where it is possible. In the past, as today, "Made in Germany" applies to all colours.
