With many small mills closing around the world, the number of manufacturers of fine quality artist papers has been shrinking. Always looking for exceptional quality art supplies from nontraditional sources, Opus has travelled around the world to find the finest watercolour paper.
Made with 100% cotton rag on a cylinder mould paper machine, this watercolour paper is comparable in quality to top European made paper. Baohong artist grade watercolour paper is internally and externally sized for a painting surface that is both receptive to delicate watercolours and lifting techniques, and resistant to pilling. This economically priced artist grade paper is a great choice for all artists at any level looking for a high quality watercolour paper.
- 100% Cotton Rag
- Mould Made

My experience with Baohong watercolour paper was very unsatisfactory. Paper would not accept second passes with water and start to dis-integrate and in the same time was pulling so hard from the tape and buckling quite substantially without any chance of recover.
I do not think the composition of paper material is right and I will stay away from this brand of paper. I was almost loosing two days of work and the whole commission.
I love it. It’s now my regular paper.
I use it a lot for landscape paintings and I don’t worry if they turn out because the paper is so inexpensive compared to Arches. The dry brush works really well on the rough side of the paper
The paper is great. The $25 shipping charge… not so great.
Baohong watercolour paper is fantastic. It is both internally and externally sized and performs as good as Arches did before Canson bought them out. Baohong is excellent paper.
