Rhonda Roy

Certified Zentangle® Teacher

I’m a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) living in the Parksville, BC area, and I love to share this world of Zentangle.

The Zentangle Method is rooted in the idea that the process of creating art speaks to the human spirit. We are all born with the urge to express ourselves in some way and as children we dance, sing, draw, paint, role play, and create with whatever materials we find. At some point in our lives many of us “put away childish things” and leave the creation of art to others. Zentangle reconnects us to this part of ourselves.

Drawing in Zentangle fashion also fosters a sense of mindfulness. By focusing on drawing one stroke at a time, your mental chatter dies away and your brain has a chance to relax and refresh. Because you are focusing on the process and not the outcome, your inner critic is silenced, and you can enjoy the simple process of creating art for its own sake.

If you're interested in finding out more about this form of meditative drawing, Zentangle Basics is a great place to start! From there, I teach a variety of courses that include tips and techniques, higher focus tangles, and Zentangle Inspired Art.

I teach Zentangle Basics four times a year (January, April, July and September), and at least 8 other classes throughout the year. I'm also available to teach private lessons, small classes, larger groups, and organizations interested in the Zentangle method as a mindfulness practise.

More information about Zentangle, about myself, and about my classes can be found on my website: www.atanglinglife.com. Information on Zentangle can also be found on www.zentangle.com.

Please check out my website, learn more about the Zentangle method, and if you live in my area, think about taking a class with me!
