As a high school student, I won the Washington State Arts Council first prize for fiction which was adjudicated by the head of the University of Washington's English Department. Upon graduation, I received the top visual art student award. I wrote for my college year books and for university creative writing journals.

While attending university in Western Washington State College in Bellingham, my choreography was selected to be preformed for Merc Cunningham and I danced at the Seattle Centre on the same program as the Winnipeg Ballet performed.

Teaching has been a sustaining part of my life. I taught at Western Washington, at UBC in Vancouver and more recently for Okanagan College and for UBC-O Continuing Studies program. My history of passion for the arts includes dance, creative writing, visual arts and music.

To trust that the gift of creativity is one that is both received and transmitted, is to live a life of joyous discovery.
