Nature Photography Workshop in Bamfield, Vancouver Island

Instructor: Catherine Babault
Location(s): Vancouver Island
Topic(s): Photography
June 7, 2019 - June 9, 2019

I love going to Bamfield because it’s in a remote area on the West coast of Vancouver Island. Accessible only by boat, float plane or from a logging road that meanders through the forest and the island’s mountain range, Bamfield is a quaint little town with friendly people, older colourful buildings and a boardwalk running along the shoreline. Bamfield borders on the traditional territories of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations, who have been living in the Barkley Sound region since time immemorial. Old-growth forest, deserted beaches, dramatic coastline and abundant wildlife are the perfect setting for the nature photographer looking for a unique experience in the heart of the rainforest, on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island.

Join me for an intensive photo workshop in Bamfield where we will work on long exposures on the beach at sunrise and sunset, capture the essence of the rainforest and learn about architecture photography while walking through the village.

The itinerary can change based on weather conditions and the group’s photographic interests. Participants are expected to be flexible to the group’s needs.

I am looking forward to show you one my favourite places on Vancouver Island.
