Location(s): Vancouver
Topic(s): Drawing
January 28, 2018 - February 25, 2018

A beginner-intermediate course to really push your drawing skills farther!
Sunday afternoons 1:30-4pm.
January 28-Feb 25 2018. No class Feb 11th for the long weekend.
$150 for 10 hours of instruction, one model session and all supplies

Jacquie Rolston has been teaching art to kids for over 12 years. Two years ago she started offering beginner adult drawing classes at her studio and they've been very popular! If you're looking for an absolute beginner course, try her 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' on Sunday mornings starting Jan 14th.

This class will cover the proportions of the face, side, front and 3/4 angles, contour lines and shading in pencil and charcoal. We will try a little bit of caricature as well, which helps with capturing the essence of a person (no easy task!). We will draw from photos, old master drawings, and from life. Students may be asked to draw their classmates- please let Jacquie know if you are uncomfortable having your portrait drawn. There will be a professional model (clothed) for the last class.

All supplies included but you may wish to purchase a sketchbook for your own practice. There will be optional homework each week.

Jacquie's studio is near 2nd and Clark. It is romantically shabby, for the real artist experience! Deepest apologies but it is located on the second floor, up a flight of stairs, and is not wheelchair accessible.

To reserve a place or to find out more, please email jacquie@jacquiedraws.com
Payment due first class by cheque or etransfer.

Some drawing ability (should be able to accurately copy a line drawing)
Special Instructions:
Dress in layers as the studio can be chilly! Dress in clothes that can get messy (white shirts not recommended). Tea and snacks provided, usually.
