Find the beauty in big monochromatic acrylic skies!

Originally from the coast, Gabrielle has always drawn inspiration from those overcast days and find solace in the quietude; however since relocating to the Okanagan, it is the storm clouds she looks to.

Join Gabrielle as she demonstrates the various techniques she uses to achieve these dramatic skies.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Kelowna or contact them at 250‑763‑3616 or toll free 1‑800‑814‑8885 to register.

Through the use of acrylic, attendees will learn how to mix a their palette and apply the paint with a combination of techniques to achieve dramatic sky effects.

A graduate of Emily Carr University, Gabrielle’s practice is split between painting and ceramics and she is interested in mining the ways in which they intersect. Following graduation, she dove into a seven-month Artist Residency at the Vernon Community Arts Centre through the Caetani Cultural Centre’s CeramAiR Program, which ultimately led her to make the Okanagan her home permanently. Recently she was awarded a major public art commission by the City of Vernon to commemorate Canada’s 150th anniversary, whereby Gabrielle enlisted the community to help create a 48 meter winding river mosaic which was installed this past summer in Vernon’s Cenotaph Park.
