Painting Acrylic Nocturnes with Sawyer Anderson

Location:
Coquitlam
Sun, August 12, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Sun, August 12, 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

August 10, 2018 – Please note: The 1:30 PM demonstration has been cancelled. The 11:30 AM demonstration is now full but will take place at its regularly scheduled time.

Discover Sawyer’s process for painting night time scenes (nocturnes) in acrylics by relating his experiences in self-teaching.

He will be focusing on the way night time skews vision, providing a space for the artist to insert their own impressions. Through the use of a limited palette, interpreting reference material, expressive brushwork, creating tension, and the otherworldly potential of night time, Sawyer will share his experience with acrylics and help attendees find their own voice through painting.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Coquitlam or contact them at 604‑545‑0410 to register.

Working in primarily traditional mediums, Sawyer Anderson is a mixed media illustrator whose recent artistic practice has explored common human experience. Through lenses of scientific inquiry and study, narrative fiction and nonfiction, consciousness research and self reflection, and attentiveness to non-hegemonic and more-than-human ways of knowing, he interrogates identity formation and human interaction.
