Nocturnes with Sawyer Anderson

Sat, January 26, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Sat, January 26, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

January 21, 2019 – Please note: The 2 PM demonstration has been cancelled.
There is still space in the 11 AM demonstration.

Sawyer will be walking attendees through the process of painting night time scenes (nocturnes) in acrylics by relating his experiences in self-teaching.

He will be focusing on the way night time skews vision, providing a space for the artist to insert their own impressions. Through the use of a limited palette, interpreting reference material, expressive brushwork, creating tension, and the otherworldly potential of night time, Sawyer will share his experience with acrylics and help attendees find their own voice through paint.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Langley or contact them at 604‑533‑0601 to register.

Working in primarily traditional mediums, Sawyer Anderson is a mixed media illustrator/fine artist whose recent practice has explored common human experience. Through lenses of scientific inquiry, narrative fiction and nonfiction, and attentiveness to non-hegemonic and more-than-human ways of knowing, he interrogates identity formation and human interaction.
