Making Colour Pop! with Christina Leinemann-Knittel

Location:
Kelowna
Sun, April 14, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Do you want to achieve vibrant results when you mix colour? Join Christina Leinemann Knittel in a discussion on the basics of colour and see how you can make your colours pop!

Christina will talk about colour theory, classification of pigments, and how that affects your mixing results. She will go over how to set up a sketchbook for colour exploration, address tonal value, utilizing contrast to lead the viewer’s eye, and other composition considerations.

She will provide tips on how to apply these essentials in your painting. Explore mapping and creating composition, underpainting, blocking in shapes, tonal values, and details. How you can experiment with colour at home, and exercises to gain insight on colour characteristics!

Working in acrylic, she will demonstrate how she uses colour in her own work, from experimentation to finished art. She will focus on the applications of colour theory in painting, and understanding the characteristics to achieve better colour mixing results.
