Marlene Lowden is an abstract painter who works in oil, acrylic and watercolour. She challenges herself to elicit questions and emotions through the use of strong colour, unusual shapes, and diverse mark making. She lives and works on the Sunshine Coast of BC and is heavily influenced by the rainforest in her backyard and the ocean at her footstep. Marlene hosts retreats abroad and workshops locally. She is honoured to have work in private collections in Canada and in the United States.
