Interested in painting big? What holds you back?

This demonstration will be less about technique and more of a discussion about the fears and logistics we need to consider when working large scale. Marlene will demonstrate some of her favourite tools and share useful tips on how to begin. Marlene will use primarily acrylic paint on canvas but hopes that no matter your medium or experience level, you will come away with greater confidence to try something new!

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Granville Island or contact them at 604‑736‑7028 to register.

Marlene Lowden is an abstract painter who works in oil, acrylic and watercolour. She challenges herself to elicit questions and emotions through the use of strong colour, unusual shapes, and diverse mark making. She lives and works on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia and is heavily influenced by the rainforest in her backyard and the ocean at her footsteps. Marlene hosts retreats abroad and workshops locally. She is honoured to have work in private collections in Canada and the United States.
