Discover the remarkable flexibility of encaustics while working with mixed media!

The ancient art of painting with pigmented waxes has enjoyed a renaissance over the past 20 years, thanks to the influence of the late Thea Haubrich, who catalyzed a strong encaustic movement in western Canada. Many artists are now exploring the uses of encaustic as an adjunct to other mediums.

Join Carol as she demonstrates her approach to encaustic work, involving image transfer, ink and pastel work, scumbling and cold wax finishing. Those looking to expand the range of working materials in their studio will find this demo very approachable, and the presentation relaxed and humorous.

Space is limited and registration is required.
