Bronwyn will be sharing her experience using gold leaf as an embellishment for graphite drawings.

There are many tricks and surprises with the medium and a few different techniques you can use - each offering its own aesthetic. This demo will showcase the difference between working with authentic gold leaf and imitation and how it interacts with a graphite drawing.

Bronwyn will also touch on the history of gilding as well as showing how the gold leaf works with different paper surfaces.

Space is limited and registration is required.

Bronwyn Schuster is a traditional visual artist best known for her figurative storytelling. She is heavily influenced by the fairytale culture of her european heritage, and the archetypes of old religions and mythologies. Using simple traditional mediums like graphite, gouache, oil paint and gold leaf, Bronwyn brings stories and ideas to life. Her constant pursuit is to find the links between the magical world and the world we live in. Bronwyn studied at The Swedish Academy of Realist Art and has been mentored by numerous figurative artists. She currently lives and works in Vancouver, BC.
