Create texture, pattern, and depth in your acrylic paintings with mediums, household items, and more!

This demo will open up new possibilities in your paintings with tips on how to create interesting textures and patterns in your work, using objects and items that can be found around the house. This can add interest, depth and richness to your work. Melanie will demonstrate some of her favourite techniques using layers of acrylic paint and mediums that you can incorporate into your work.

Melanie Ellery is a painter; creating lively, expressive, abstract art in her East Vancouver Studio. Her dynamic work involves vibrant colours, patterns, and texture. She is a founding member of the artist collective, '13 Feet Off The Ground,' is a member of CARFAC and The Federation of Canadian Artists. She writes a weekly feature called "Art Crush Women" on Instagram each Wednesday, sharing and supporting fellow female artists.
