Work and Play in Oils with Jeremy Herndl

February 15, 2020

Saturday, February 15th 12:00 – 1:30PM

During this demonstration, Jeremy will talk about his painting process and the contradictions to work through. Jeremy finds most inspiration from painting outdoors, and although he feels it is important, he gradually moved back into the studio where he can invent more and play. This back and forth of work and play motivates him to go outside when he feels like he is faking it and then back inside when it seems too didactic.

Jeremy Herndl received a BFA in painting in 1996 at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and completed a Masters degree in painting in 2011 at Emily Carr University. He has taught courses and workshops at several institutions and his paintings are found in public and private collections across Canada as well as the USA, Poland, Sweden and the UK. Jeremy lives in Victoria with his wife and two kids.
