Watercolours: The Process of Pigmenting with John Cogley

March 22, 2020

Description

Sunday, March 22 11:00AM – 1:00PM

Join us for an intimate conversation with John Cogley – Sole Owner of DANIEL SMITH Inc.  Curious about Quinacridone pigments? Wonder where in the world the colour Serpentine comes from? How a colour gets its name? Or how Daniel Smith tests pigments for lightfastness? This is your chance to get your questions answered directly from John. The presentation will start off with the history of Daniel Smith Manufacturing and the many aspects of developing their products. You will see firsthand lab paint-outs, minerals used to manufacture colours in the PrimaTek line and more. Following will be an overview of the complete Daniel Smith Watercolor Products line up and the very fun opportunity to put paint to paper!

John Cogley, the owner of Daniel Smith, joined the company in the IT department nearly 3 decades ago, working his way up to President and CEO, eventually buying the company in 2008. With over 2 decades of leading the company as President, CEO and Owner, John has been the driving force behind making DANIEL SMITH Watercolors and other products to be recognized as the world’s best. Because of his commitment to innovation, and to manufacturing the highest quality paints and other products, artists worldwide can rely on the performance of those products year after year.
