Join Sarah Lewke as she creates a watercolour floral painting!
Sarah will be demonstrating creating a watercolour floral painting. She will discuss how she chooses a compositional structure and colour palette when creating her bright, intuitively painted florals. She will also demonstrate various warm up exercises and brush techniques she relies on when painting. You will take home great skills such as choosing a composition and colour palette, creating a variety of marks using various brush and techniques like painting intuitively from memory and wet into wet watercolour blending.
Sarah studied Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus, and received her BFA before pursuing an Education Degree at Trinity Western University. She is a resident artist at the New Arts Collective in downtown Kelowna, she teaches a class of grade 5 students as well as teaching painting classes in the community. Her work is an exploration of beauty, identity and our relationship with the landscape.
