PORTRAIT PAINTING IN ALLA PRIMA: LONG POSE

April 11, 2020 - April 12, 2020

$275

Description

Are you ready for greater realism, depth and a convincing finish in your portrait paintings? In this workshop, you will fully develop one painting from start-to-finish, bringing together traditional & contemporary techniques. The live model will hold one sustained pose, allowing for greater focus on form, light and skin tones. Working in alla prima, your painting will develop in gradual steps (imprimatura, grisaille, ‘tiling’ colour, impasto, and glazing), utilizing exciting brushwork and employing colour harmonies of your choice. Emphasis will be placed upon accuracy, and capturing the subtle nuances of skin by adjusting colour, edges, value and temperature
