Saturday, March 14 2:00 – 3:30PM
Learn how to paint luminous, emotive landscapes with atmosphere and depth. Caroline will walk you through the composition and design of a landscape painting, step by step. Discover how to simplify the expansiveness and vast information found in a landscape; to orchestrate shapes, values, color and edges to create compositions that communicate an overall mood; to look for key elements that can help you create a strong painting, both for in studio painting and for painting en plein air; and to use a reference photo as a starting point, and create a work that is beyond the photo. While Caroline will demo in oils, the principles can be applied to acrylics as well.
