This presentation will inspire you, whether you are just discovering the medium of collage or are looking to add to your knowledge and skills. Join Tony for a demonstration that will cover different approaches to collage: the materials, creating surface treatments & textures, using photographs, ephemera and image transfer. We will also discuss various media options, techniques and demonstrations in a relaxed, fun and creative environment. No experience is required, just your enthusiasm!

Tony has been working professionally as a commercial photographer/graphic designer for thirty years . He is a photo arts graduate (BAPA) from Ryerson Polytechnical University. Over the last 14 years, Tony has worked and taught many different mediums, including digital artwork, iphoneography, alternative based photography, mixed media, collage, printmaking and encaustics. His classes are innovative, relaxed and inclusive. He is currently on the Faculty of The Vancouver Island School of Art teaching Collage, Alternative Photography, Photo-Based Mixed Media and Printmaking Tony has also taught classes and workshops at The Coast Collective, The Denman Island Arts Centre, The Old School House in Qualicum Beach, MISSA ( Metchosin International summer School of the Arts) and UVIC-Continuing Studies, Camosun College-Continuing Studies and Red Deer College Series Summer Arts School and Leading Edge Workshops in Calgary. Tony is also past board president and participating Board member of MISSA. In 2013 He received a Saanich Legacy Grant for an Artist in residence program for young adults called “Holga Dreams” and completed an Artist in Residency at Shawingan Lake School in 2014. His work draws inspiration from his travels, technical drawings and illustrations, vintage photography, birds/crows and his love of nature.
