Family Fun with Gelli Plate Printing with Maggie Chow

Workshop fee: $5.00 for cost of materials, children under 3 are free!
Participating families will leave this workshop feeling comfortable with techniques of basic printmaking and Gel Press printmaking with young children. The workshop will be engaging, direct, and meaningful for all skill levels. Maggie will provide resources to illustrate materials and techniques during the workshop. Participants will feel confident that they can use the art materials effectively, but most importantly, that they feel motivated to invent, adapt, or discover their own art project at home. Children must be accompanied by an adult. HANDS ON!
Maggie has been serving the community with inspired programs and events for artists of all ages for over 28 years. Her works including facilitating the family program SUPER SUNDAY at the Vancouver Art Gallery for eight years. She is now a full time artist and teaches across B.C. She is also a certified artist educator with the GOLDEN artist paint company in New York. Maggie is a founding member of Arts and Play Society, a non-profit organization that supported pedagogy of play and art education. She is also a member of the National Art Education Association as well as a part-time employee of Opus art supplies in Granville Island.
