Exploring The Possibilities: Water Mixable Oil with Kerry Vaughn Erickson

Come join Kerry as he explores the possibilities water mixable oil paints! Using this relatively new medium Kerry will work both abstractly and representationally, demonstrating a variety of paint application techniques, using brushes, palette knife, and other tools. He will also cover some studio safety tips!

Kerry Vaughn Erickson is artist and art educator who teaches Painting, drawing and Mixed Media at the Academy of Modern Art in Kerrisdale, Vancouver. Kerry describes his paintings as “amalgams” – a synthesis of representation and abstraction, pop culture references, classical art motifs, and commercial design imagery. Before becoming a full time artist, Kerry worked as an illustrator and graphic designer – these experiences, in conjunction with memory and ongoing personal introspection inform his most recent work.
