William will introduce the features of Pilot Parallel Pens, recommended papers, and why he chooses these tools for his sketches. Then he will demo how to use these simple tools to draw a dynamic sketch. Attendees will also have an opportunity to try his tools. After that, he will explain the meaning of the sketch and its relationship to the final painting.
Artistic inspiration began at an early age for William. Growing up in Beijing, China after the Cultural Revolution, he was surrounded by classical Chinese culture as well as new European art. These are the influences which continue to define and inspire his work today.
With 7 years of professional training, William graduated from Beijing Normal University, with a Bachelors of Arts degree with a major in Fine Arts.
Specializing in portraits and landscapes, his explorative drawings and paintings combine traditional mediums with modern techniques, providing his audience with another dimension of experience.
