Come explore the possibilities offered by Prismacolor wax-based coloured pencils – a clean, non-toxic, versatile and highly portable medium. Deborah will demonstrate blending, layering, and textural techniques that have a broad range of applications. The demonstration will focus primarily on working on a paper-based surface but the option of using clayboard, which allows finished artwork to be varnished and framed without glass, will also be discussed.
From her own four-legged companions to the wild creatures she encounters, the animal world fascinates this life-long BC artist and fuels her creativity. A senior signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Deborah has been making art since she could first hold a pencil and has a Fine Arts diploma from the University of the Fraser Valley. Her coloured pencil drawings have been featured in books and won awards at the regional and national level. Visit her website: www.strongatart.ca.
