Using a variety of applicators, Bill will demonstrate the wide range of creative options Pan Pastels offer. Learn how to apply and work into layers of pastels on prepared surfaces as he creates both a portrait study and an abstract composition. Bill has been drawing and painting for nearly 50 years and holds an MFA in painting and lithography. He helped create the Victoria College of Art and worked there for the 17 years. He currently teaches

There are many creative ways to utilize pastel as an art making tool, unique and interesting surfaces to work on that will enhance the look, and many options for safely protecting and displaying pastel. Faith visits Opus North Vancouver to demonstrate how she achieves details and highlights with a variety of pastels and pastel implements on Colorfix paper. Using an animal as her subject matter, Faith will reveal pastel techniques that will show you how to bring your furry friends to life on paper.

Faith has been an artist and art instructor in the Lower Mainland for 20 years. She was educated in Design and Art History at Mount Royal College in Calgary and graduated in 1978.
