Ed Araquel

Ed Araquel was already a first prize winner while a student at Art Instruction Schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His winning painting was chosen for the schools permanent collection.

He further studied and attended workshops and seminars under two of America's foremost portrait artists--John Howard Sanden and Daniel Greene. He also studied watercolour with Zoltan Szabo.

In 1968 he established his own art and sign studio where he designed and produced award winning displays and exhibit booths. He also taught commercial art and sign writing at Mohawk College in Brantford, Ontario. In 1978 he joined Consolidated Bathurst Packaging as Art Supervisor until 1991.

Ed has won many awards in almost all media--oils, pastels and watercolour in various subjects-- portraits, landscapes and sill lifes. In the 2002 Sooke Fine Art Show he won the Best From Sooke Award and the Juror's Award. He won the Juror's Award again in 2004

Ed a consistent award winner at Federation Of Canadian Artists members juried shows.
