Traditional Drawing - Sculpting on Paper - A Traditional Approach to Rendering Light, Form and Value Based on the Antique with Mark Anthony

Location:
Coquitlam
Sun, October 29, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Sun, October 29, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

Following the marvelous tradition of drawing the antique, Mark Anthony welcomes you to try on the proverbial old-world shoes of the Traditional Studio as he provides a full demonstration.

Traditionally, the great masters knew that idealized sculptures from the Greek Classical period gave them a masterful study in anatomy, gesture, light, form, and so on. Michelangelo honoured ancient works and their beauty with examples like Laocoon and the Belvedere Torso. Sketch along with Mark as you unravel the fundamental mysteries of drawing light, form and value according to old-masters techniques.

This demonstration compliments the "Visual Fundamentals", "Introduction to Classical Drawing" and the "Lighter Side of Classical Drawing" programs than Mark Anthony features at Dene Croft Studios in North Vancouver.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Coquitlam or contact them at 604‑545‑0410 to register.
