June 28, 2018 – Please note: This demonstration is full and no further registration will be taken. Thank you for your interest!

Try your hand at monoprinting – one of the most playful forms of printmaking with a wide variety of results!

Monoprinting may be the most playful form of printmaking, requiring only a few simple tools and a willingness to experiment and be surprised by the occasional unexpected result. Though the process is easily accessible, the creative possibilities are limitless. Susan will demonstrate techniques such as lift drawings, additive and reductive printmaking, layering of textures and colours, incorporating stencils and masks, and printing using household items and elements from nature. You will learn how to choose your papers, prepare your plate, and build your image.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Victoria or contact them at 250‑386‑8133 or toll free 1‑800‑524‑6555 to register.

Susan Underwood began printmaking when she moved to Victoria in 1998 and happily discovered Xchanges Artists’ Studios and Gallery and Ground Zero Printmakers. Since then, she and fellow printmaker Lorraine Douglas, decided to open their own studio and together invested in a Takash press. Several workshops are on offer at their Cecelia Press Studio. To find out more about their studio, like their facebook page Cecelia Press Studio.
