Journey of an Artist: Explorations of Various Media with Dave Watland

Dave will be taking you through his journey of being a full time artist.

He has worked in watercolour, acrylics, oils, mixed media and sculpting. Dave will be discussing many mediums in each of these including some of the benefits from working in one medium over another.

Dave will also discuss some learnings of marketing your art practice and exhibiting in shows, plus the importance of using a sketchbook in your art practice.

Dave Watland was born in Camrose, Alberta. He attended Alberta College of Art, then moved to the Okanagan where he worked in custom auto painting, signage, and from 1988-2007 Dave was in the Graphic Design business. He has had the wonderful opportunity of being an artist of many mediums for most of his life. From 2007 until now, Dave has been pursuing fine art and has worked in watercolour, acrylics, oils and presently in coffee.
