Impressive Linocut - Exploring Printmaking for Art, Cards, and Fabric with Michelle Wiebe

Michelle will walk participants through the ancient art of printmaking.

During this fast paced demo she will share some of the history, tools and processes involved in pulling one of a kind linocut prints. Utilizing this versatile skill, she will show you how you produce gallery quality prints, stamp patterns onto fabric as well how to make beautiful, one of a kind cards and gifts. You will learn how with a few simple tools they can create an impressive variety of handmade items, unique to you.

Michelle Wiebe is a Calgary-based artist and instructor mainly focussed on painting and printmaking. Working primarily with linocut, Michelle enjoys exploring the possibilities from fine art printmaking, block printing on fabric to using her tabletop platen letterpress. She recently has been instructing and demonstrating these skills at the Leighton Art Centre in Calgary.
