In this demonstration Jamie will be focusing on layering elements in one image to create visual depth and convey a concept.
She will demonstrate how to use images and mediums to create image transfers and textures on wood panel. Attendees will learn how to use a variety of mediums and how to integrate photographs into their paintings.
She will show you how to a variety of image transfer techniques, tape transfer, collage on panel, and utilizing pencil to create a text background and more!

Jamie Smith is a Vancouver artist, educator, consultant and events producer. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from UVIC and Arts Education from University of British Columbia. Her mixed media paintings are inspired from her many travels and focus on the sediment of memory and experience that offer the viewer an opportunity to conduct their own narrative. She is also the founder of "ROVE-A Mount Pleasant Art Walk". Her studio is called THRIVE and is located in Mount Pleasant in Vancouver. THRIVE focuses on professional development in the arts and helps them grow their practices and businesses.
