From Idea to Installation with Jay Senetchko

Jay will present an overview of his artistic practice, focusing on the process from formulating an idea, sketching, developing a composition, painting and finally placing the work in the context of an installation.

The goal of the presentation is to give insight into a particular creative process, and the relationship between that process, the exhibition of work, and maintaining a career as an artist.

Space is limited and registration is required.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Jay Senetchko now lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia. Primarily self-taught his painting has been highly influenced by both Gideon Flitt and Odd Nerdrum. His work has exhibited since 2002 and shown in North and Central America and Europe. Senetchko is a founding member of the Vancouver-based figurative collective, Phantoms in the Front Yard.
