Come Fall in Love with Pan Pastels with Carol Whitlock
Thu, May 25, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Thu, May 25, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
No colours to mix, no brushes to clean, just have fun painting the right colour, tint and value right off the bat!
Painting with Pan Pastels is like putting on makeup. A little eye shadow, blush and highlight brings your subject to life.
Painting today is all about simplifying, creating hard and soft edges and dynamic value shifts. Pan Pastels are the perfect medium to achieve just that with their easy to apply highly pigmented colours. Learn how Carol Whitlock chooses which pastel paper and support to use for her subjects.
Towards the end of the demonstration, Carol will show you some of her finished paintings to illustrate her choices. Then watch her paint one of her signature jellyfish while she shows you how to use sponges and applicators to block in shapes, glaze colours and make value shifts
Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Coquitlam or contact them at 604‑545‑0410 to register.
