Cold Wax and Oil - Painting on Wood and Paper with Kathleen Menges

Join Kathleen as she focuses on the basics of cold wax and oil, and working on a wood panel and various paper surfaces.

She will discuss the ratio of oil to medium she uses and explains the timeframe in which she creates her pieces. The audience will learn how to set themself up with basic tools and products to create unique textures and marks with unconventional tools on a variety of surfaces.

Kathleen Menges, an artist and instructor, teaches cold wax and oils in her studio in Abbotsford and brings a diverse education to all her lessons. Kathleen started her education with Interior Design at BCIT, then went on to study at Emily Carr University of Art and Design; she has also traveled in the states to further her knowledge of mediums. Kathleen has been featured in two books “Cold Wax Medium Techniques, Concepts & Conversations” by Rebecca Crowell and Jerry McLaughlin and “Wabi-Sabi: Painting with Cold Wax" by Serena Barton. Kathleen is represented by Art Works Gallery in Vancouver and has shown her work extensively throughout her career.
