Join Alfonso as he demonstrates the use of sketch as a reference to painting, its potential as artwork, and the contrast between watercolour sketching to other sketching medias.

Learn both dry and wet mediums in sketching and how both can support each other or stand alone as a finished piece.

For individuals who are interested in understanding the importance of sketching and how it can support your painting process or help generate concepts and ideas.

Alfonso Tejada was born in Durango, Mexico but has called Vancouve r his home for the last 37 years. With a Bachelor of Architecture from Guanajuanto prior to arriving in Canada, he pursued and obtained a Masters in Architecture and Urban Design at UBC. As well as taught for 5 years as a part-time faculty in the design studios at the School of Architecture.

Alfonso’s work as an Architect & Urban Designer has allowed him to travel all around Nort h & South America, Asia, and Europe. His travels have influenced his artist vision and has allowed him to teach Plein Air painting in Venice, Italy every summer.
