Approaches to Figurative Painting with Oil Paints with Cath Hughes

Location:
Granville Island
Sat, August 26, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Sat, August 26, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Interested in painting the figure but want a more painterly approach? Cath will demonstrate her approach to alla prima painting of the figure using oil paints.

You will learn how to loosen up your mark-making, control use of impasto, paint wet-on-wet and work in a more gestural manner. She will also introduce some of her use of non-traditional materials such as spray paint, and alternative surfaces, such as polyester. Cath will show how she situates her figures within a landscape setting and controls balance between figure and background.

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Granville Island or contact them at 604‑736‑7028 to register.
