Acrylic Glazing Techniques with Jan Crawford

Learn to create the perfect glaze to enhance your paintings!

Jan Crawford will lead an informative and detailed demonstration of glazing with acrylics. She will discuss how to prepare your canvas using self leveling clear gel and how to create glazes using fluid acrylics with retarder, glazing fluid and gloss medium.

Original works will be on hand to show examples of how glazing will enhance a painting, as well as how the glazing lasts over time.

Jan Crawford holds a B.ED art major from the University of B.C. a printmaking major from Emily Carr University and an AFCA signature status from the Federation of Canadian Artists. Jan spent twenty years at Malaspina as a printmaker, there she produced over a 140 large colourful water-based monotypes. Many of these prints are in Galleries , Wineries and private homes. A series of six large monotypes are apart a private collection. These prints were published in a book “Nexus” :Histories and communities. Today Jan works in acrylic . Her recent work focuses on “preserve” giving attention to the iconic jars of the Okanagan. A symbol of cultural identity. Jan has shown her work in Municipal as well as private Galleries. Recently Crawford’s work was featured in Galleries West Magazine (summer edition 2016) under : “Artists to Collect”.
