Opus Plein Air Frames

Many artists are drawn to the outdoors to capture nature’s beauty and framing the finished piece with the right moulding honours the tradition of plein air painting and shows off the work to its best advantage.

Master landscape paintings in museums are most often displayed in frames with hand finished details–metal leafing in gold or silver, or hand-painted washes over leafing. Wide mouldings that act both as the frame and the mat ensure the frame subtly complements the art, keeping it the main focus.

Inspired by what you can view in museums and galleries, Opus has recently updated our plein air frame selection. This month we are introducing our Opus Plein Air Frames in three traditional finishes: silver leaf, gold leaf, and black over gold leaf.
