Design You Trust
If you havent found it already, www.designyoutrust.com is a fantastic place to go when you need a fresh look at the world around you. It is a blog that features creative and intelligent design decisions from around the world in many industries. For those with minors in the house, be warned: in ironic contrast to the name, Design You Trust probes design no matter the material. What you can definitely trust is that you will find a showcase of intelligent, creative, and inspiring design.
I first stumbled across the site when I was reading someone elses enthusiastic comments about this post about Creative Carpets and Mats. What immediately struck me was the creative thought behind the product that was so obviously obvious in the products design. Though I may never buy a carpet that looks like a swimming pool, the idea of it certainly inspired me to think outside the ever-encroaching walls of monotony.
Great sites like Design You Trust arent as prolific as the sites that, in turn, blog about them (like Im doing here). But following the trail of such viral blogging often lets you discover gems pretty quickly. So when you do find a gem, do something to keep it handy. Bookmarks are great until you have more than 7 (well, thats my limit). I highly recommend taking the time to setup a Feed Aggregator and to start subscribing to available feeds. I havent checked Design You Trust in 3 months, but today I fired up Bloglines, saw this: Design You Trust (200), clicked it, and I was able to scan the headlines of all the posts Id missed since last logging on. Nice n easy n quick!
