Supporting Inner-city Arts

On Saturday, March 28th Opus hosted our 3rd Annual Staff Bake Sale, which was held in conjunction with our annual warehouse Garage Sale. All proceeds collected from the sale of goodies were donated to the Ray-Cam Cooperative Centre's after school art programs which offer sessions such as Art Attack and Cartooning.

There was a wide variety of delectable treats ranging from cookies and bars, to loaves and cupcakes, all baked with love by Opus staff members. In total, we raised $308 – and Opus has matched that amount with a gift card for art supplies.

Thank you to everyone who indulged in our delicious baked goods and donated to this great project. Your support is greatly appreciated. Congratulations to everyone involved!...Read more

May 6th, 2009 is World Kids Colouring Day. Any school or individual can participate by logging on to www.world-kids-colouring-day-canada.com and registering your school name or your personal name. Opus Victoria Helps Support the Mary Manning Centre

The Mary Manning Centre was the designated recipient of the Opus Victoria annual Christmas Donation Drive. To our great delight and amazement, $5,544 was contributed by Opus customers and the store itself is matching that contribution in kind. As a result, a $5,544 credit in art supplies has been set up for MMC, which is enormously appreciated because of the art therapy work we do with our clients.

On February 4th, Opus Victoria Manager, Marsha Arbour, formally presented the cheque to Sandy Bryce, MMC's Executive Director, and the Times Colonist was there to capture the moment. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Opus for the work they did in collecting donations on our behalf.
