Experience the Best of BC

Since its inception in 2002, the BC Cultural Crawl has kicked off each August in tandem with BC Day celebrations happening across the province. With over 70 communities participating, cultural enthusiasts and travelers alike anticipate the unique and authentic experiences in communities across BC during the BC Cultural Crawl, creating a bustling cultural scene province wide.

We know that culture comes alive in the Summer with festivals, artist studio tours, open air craft markets, wine tours and all kinds of other experiences happening back to back and often, simultaneously! With so many sites to see, our exploration wish list is packed throughout the months of July and August; often, when it comes to planning cultural experiences, our lists are longer than our vacation time. The BC Cultural Crawl has traditionally spanned the month of August, offering purveyors of culture a snapshot of BC’s cultural excellence. This year, however, the BC Cultural Crawl kicks off on August 1st with the first annual Yearlong Cultural Crawl.

Using the new Curated Community initiative from the Arts & Cultural Guide to BC, the BC Cultural Crawl will now be a fully-fledged self-guided tour across the province available throughout the year. Art-BC.com features over 70 communities in BC, each with an interactive, user-friendly map available online. Each community is curated online with descriptions of each destination corresponding to easily identifiable markers on the community map.

The goal of the BC Cultural Crawl is to encourage, enable and inspire you to take your time and discover the wealth of BC’s rich cultural landscape. Experience unparalleled outdoor adventure.

Savour the bounty of culinary pleasures. Be inspired by visual artistry. Discover Aboriginal heritage. Bask in the serenity of the sea. Tour the Okanagan wineries. Be captivated at the theatre. Watch whales. Explore. Experience the best of BC.
